Deacon Matt Dulka is a permanent deacon for the Oakland Diocese. In 1996, he began full time ministry with the Mission Education and Promotion Department of the Maryknoll Fathers & Brothers. He is currently the Regional Director and coordinates Maryknoll’s mission education and outreach effort in the western U.S. In addition, since 2009, Matt has been co-directing the Maryknoll Deacon Program.Matt is married and has three children. After college, Matt joined the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and ministered to detained youth in the Oakland area. After he was married, he worked as an attorney at a firm in San Francisco. In 1996, Matt left the firm to minister full time with Maryknoll.In addition to his ministry with Maryknoll, Matt is involved in parish ministry at St. John the Baptist and diocesan deacon formation programs.

Matt has J.D. from Golden Gate University and a Master of Theology from the University of San Francisco.

Matt is an experienced presenter and teacher in the areas of mission, globalization, social justice, ministry and discernment. He has directed numerous retreats, especially for deacons and their wives and has accompanied groups on overseas immersion trips.
